Fashion week came and went, designs were loved, labels were bashed and as always statistics were run to see what exactly the designers put out to the runway this year.
And of course, these designs and labels set the trends for the upcoming season so let's take a look at what exactly would be in store for the summer of this year.
According to Vogue France, "Spring-Summer 2023 had a festive spirit and evoked imagination, with pieces that married fashion and art."
In terms of colors, softer shades such as baby blue, monochrome beige and sunset hues largely dominated the collections, though in the Chanel, Gucci and Michael Kors collection the theme was mainly 'liquid gold'. The roaring twenties were brought back Louis Vuitton, Jil Sander and Chanel in a minimalistic yet chic manner with frills fringes. Neon, crochet, denims and bike-wear are some of the other styles that were spotted throughout the Fashion Week. It seems that the 2000's will live on for yet another season as cargos were a part of many a show. My least favorite 2023 trend is definitely buckles; I feel some styles from the past should remain there. Favorite part of the Fashion Week though? It's definitely the revival of the gilded age of the 1920's.
After the analysis of collections put forth by labels and designers, a rough guess could be made on what pieces would be in for the upcoming seasons. By far the most dominating pieces in the collections were (*insert drumroll*) miniskirts, summer blazers, chunky jewelry and open-toe heels. Good luck stocking up on the season favorites!
