Dior AW23

As put by Forbes, 'the relatable and wearable' collection was a tribute to three women- Catherine Dior, Édith Piaf and Juliette Gréco. The flamboyantly alluring design of the set was designed by a Portuguese artist who went by the name of Joana Vasconcelos. The collection was themed as Valkyrie Miss Dior, as an acclamation to Catherine, Dior's sister. This Dior collection is the very signature of a femininity that goes against the grain. Rebellious. At once strong and fragile, inspired by three women with a sense of independence. The collection of 96 looks empowered femininity rather than giving it a sense of power by conveying masculinity. The soft shoulders and gently sloping a- lines gave the subtle sense of authority and rebellion.

The star-studded guest list consisted of Charlize Theron, Gal Gadot, Christain Serratos, Elsa Zylberstein, Bella Ramsey and Chiara Ferragni. The make-up looks certainly lived up to the theme. As per Dior standard, the complexion was smooth and minimalist, focusing on healthy, porcelain skin and lightly stained lips. The main focus was a graphic eyeliner look, keeping with the beauty trends du jour, that consisted of thickly drawn-on kohl on both the upper and lower lids, meeting at the inner corner in the shape of a cross.
